  • Perudo qualifier places are highly sought after

    23 July 2015

September will see the London qualifying event for the Perudo World Championships take place and for the second year running registration has had to close after just 24 hours, as the 50 highly sought after places have been filled within hours of the event announcement.

The 50 players will be putting their skills to the test from 7pm onwards on Wednesday 23rd September at the The W London Hotel in Leicester Square. The top two finalists will qualify to play against other regional finalists in the prestigious World Championship held in November.

The Perudo World Championships, run by Paul Lamond Games, is in its 26th year. Perudo is a version of liar dice which is part-luck and part-skill. Playing well requires an ability to deceive and also to detect your opponent's deception. There's no board, no setting-up, and no complicated rules, just dice and an exciting game of guesswork, bluff and luck.

Richard Wells, Sales Director at Paul Lamond Games said “It is fantastic to see the growing popularity of Perudo and our qualifying events. To close registration for the event after just 24 hours is incredible and for this to occur two years running is testament to the growing reputation of the game.

“2015 marks 26 successful years of Perudo, which is played in universities and clubs around the world and in an age of technology games and toys this family game is enjoying an ongoing increase in sales. Perudo can be played by all, so whether you are a seasoned Perudo player or just enjoy a good board game all are welcome to our events and beginners luck quite often plays out!” added Richard.

Finalists from the London qualifier who make it to the Grand Final can look forward to an evening of fun, excitement and intense skillful bluffing at the prestigious Groucho Club in London.

Qualifying events have also been held in Glasgow in May and the South Coast event will take place on Tuesday 29th September at The Concorde Club, Hampshire.
